Biking with Shannon...

Today Shannon came over for a bike ride with Sammy. They rode over to Soldiers Field, looked for bugs with magnifying glasses, and had an overall great time. A serious product defect occurred (Sammy's training wheel unexpectedly came off) but we believe with time and a good tort lawyer, he'll be all right.

Easter 2010

Sammy really seemed to enjoy Easter this year. The Easter Bunny brought him a new bike and the Flash action figure he wanted. Later in the day we want over to Dennis' house for a wonderful dinner and time with his family. Sammy enjoys being around Dennis and his children: Benton, Kendra, and Avery.

Sharing Shannon's Cycle...

Yesterday Shannon invited Sammy over to try her Strider. Strider is a type of children's bike made by a company based in Rapid City, South Dakota. From the Strider website:

"The Strider is a balance bike designed specifically for one to five year old children. Unlike the traditional training bicycle, the Strider balance bike has no pedals, chain, or sprockets and needs no training wheels. As simple as it may appear, the Strider will quickly become the most important "toy" you have purchased for your child (or grandchild). Don't tell them, but the Strider balance bike is actually an amazing educational vehicle. With no adult prodding or pushing, a curious child will straddle his or her Strider and immediately begin the learning process."

Sammy really enjoyed the Strider (we'll have to get one) almost as much as he enjoyed seeing Shannon, Porthos the dog, and Alex the bird.

Sammy seems to like the biker look...

Though he should look where he's going...

Back up again...
